Does ABS-CBN’s renewal is the priority now by the Congress over fighting Covid-19 Pandemic?

I just recently noticed some headlines, news and some trending videos about the “provisional franchise” of ABS-CBN. This, so called “provisional franchise” is created by none other than the House speaker, Rep. Allan Peter Cayetano. According to some news, Rep. Cayetano had hastened the passing of the bill, where it grants the “provisional franchise” that will allow ABS-CBN to operate within 5 months.

But, as I read on some articles, there’s no such thing as “provisional franchise” in our constitution. So, what does this means, is that something is going on under our radar folks.

It does really infuriate me, because as our country does do all the necessary things and measures just to combat the spread of this pandemic. Our elected representatives, had been wasting their time in discussing the “provisional franchise” of the ABS-CBN

What the hell!.. instead of passing of those bills that will help to combat this covid-19 pandemic, they are on a discussion on this, so called “provisional franchise”.

For me, I’m not against on the renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise because I don’t want those employees to lose their jobs. But this is not the time to do it. There are far more important bills that must be pass quickly.

And to our House Speaker, Rep. Allan Peter Cayetano, passing that bill is something like a trickery you have done us. I don’t know about any laws, but one thing I know, that every Filipino should follow the Constitution, whether you’re a rich or poor, a private individual or a public servant. Law should be followed at all times.

My final thoughts on this issue, is that renewal of ABS-CBN franchise should be on a right process, and it should not be hastened at all. Parties involving should be present during the hearing, so that the representatives could have a fair a decision, whether to renew the franchise or not.
